Mary once again joined Canberra motorcyclists who took to the roads for the 32nd Annual Blanket Run to support families in need of support this winter.

“The Blanket Run is a symbol of the goodwill that is demonstrated by how the motorcyclist community works when it comes together,” Ms Porter said.

“Every year hundreds of riders from around Canberra support this initiative, and the toy run in December, it was great to once again see so many people turning out and getting involved.”

The event is organised by the Motorcycle Riders Association (MRA) of the ACT and this year all donations were be presented to The Salvation Army.

As usual presentations were made to the club and largest corporate group with the largest number of riders joining-in.

“The Blanket Run is not only to gather blankets, warm clothes, goods and financial donations, but also to raise awareness of the difficulties and cost of living pressures some members of our community face, especially in the winter months.”

As well the MRA also does a great job raising awareness of all road users about vulnerable road users, such as those on two wheels.
