Mary recently joined over 260 000 other Canberrans at the National Multicultural Festival.

This year’s National Multicultural Festival has been the biggest on record so far and has attracted thousands of stallholders and performers.

“It is very important that we celebrate the wide variety of cultures that together make Canberra such a great place to live.

“Many people will have been exposed to something different and new as part of the National Multicultural Festival, and I think that is a good thing.

“There are many interesting ideas and perspectives that other cultures can offer us that may challenge our outlook on life. Of course, there is also the widely enjoyed food and entertainment, which was outstanding throughout the entire weekend, as has been the case with every National Multicultural Festival.

“I would like to thank all those who gave their time to make the National Multicultural Festival possible, particularly those who volunteered their time to share their culture with other Canberrans. Without people like these, events, such as the National Multicultural Festival, would not happen,” Mary concluded.
