Recently Mary had the wonderful experience of attending the Canberra Youth Theatre’s TANK performance in Garema Place, Civic, held in a mock water tank!
These six short, fun-filled plays, acted out in this intimate space, are about our precious resource, water. They are a fanciful and whimsical and at the same time serious look at our attitudes to
water conservation.
The water conservation message is sandwiched between the slapstick and quirky humour so cleverly everyone “gets it”, perhaps without realising it!
The Canberra Youth Theatre was established in 1972 and provides young people, ages seven to twenty five, an opportunity to explore, extend and develop their creativity through theatre workshops and productions.
“These young playwrights and actors are a very talented group with much to offer”, Mary said, “I hope to catch many more of their various performances in the future.”
