Mary recently attended a community information evening in relation to the investigation into the feasibility of basing an emergency services station in Aranda for both fire and ambulation services.

“The station is a crucial piece of public infrastructure and it is important that we make sure it is built in the right place. Therefore, good community consultation around the location of the emergency services station is imperative.

“It is especially important that we take into account the views of nearby residents and businesses to make sure that the station will be valued and welcomed by the community,” Mary remarked.

Further information about the feasibility of locating the emergency services station in Aranda and the variation to the Territory Plan necessary to make it possible and how you can have your say is available at www.act.gov.au/draftvariations.
