Mary was very pleased to attend the launch of Volunteering ACT’s new education and training package late last month and the opening of their new premises in Civic.
The new training package provides a selection of six streams which cater to the different roles people play as volunteers.
Among the courses offered are an introductory course for volunteers about their rights and responsibilities as volunteers as well as some more advanced courses which can be customised for specific circumstances.
“As a former CEO of Volunteering ACT, I understand the importance of providing people with the skills they need to feel confident to go out in community and make a difference as volunteers.
“I also appreciate the outstanding work Volunteering ACT does in supporting volunteers in the Canberra community,” Mary said. “I am also very pleased to see the organisation in their new home.”
