Mary recently joined teachers and parents to celebrate the achievements of Year 10 students from ACT public schools at the 2012 Year 10 Excellence Awards for Outstanding Achievement in the High School Years.
The awards give schools the opportunity to recognise students who have shown academic, personal and community achievement.
“These students were identified by their teachers as exceptional individuals and role models.
“Their achievements show the depth of talent of our students in a range of areas,” Mary said.
“Special thanks should go to the educators in our schools, who have contributed to the achievements of the students. We must also recognise the huge contribution and support of family and friends who sometimes make significant personal sacrifices to assist these young people through school.
“I would like to wish all these students the best for the future. I suspect they will all go on to achieve great things and do much to benefit our community,” Mary concluded.
