Canberra had the proud opportunity to be a part of the biggest football tournament ever staged in Australia by hosting seven games.

All matches had incredible turnouts at Canberra Stadium where during 82,000 people attended over the tournament.

The attendance at Asian Cup games once again demonstrated what a wonderful multicultural community we have here, not only across Australia, but also in Canberra, joining together as one and celebrating the love of sport and football.

Mary is well known to be a loud and proud football supporter, attending the majority of the games to show her support.

“It was an amazing experience to see China v North Korea and Iran v Iraq, these cultures and the traditions loudly supporting their teams at the Canberra Stadium and celebrating together after the games, Mary said.

“It was all brilliantly organised! I believe Canberra should be taking every opportunity to host more international championships in the future,

“It is not only is good for our economy, and tourism , but also our social cohesion,” Mary said.
