As you all know, Mary is a passionate supporter of Greening Australia's work in the ACT and region. She attends tree planting and other activities, such as seed propagation, when ever she gets the opportunity.

"Working with Greening Australia as a volunteer is a great experience," Mary said, “not only do I get to do my bit for the environment, but it’s a great way to get good exercise and meet new friends."

Recently Greening Australia Capital Region had an unprecedented three projects as finalists in the 2009 national Banksia Awards and was the proud winner of the Land and Biodiversity Award for its home grown ACT Land Keepers project. This is a partnership with the ACT Natural Resource Management Council, funded by the ACT and Australian Governments.

“I think you would agree that Greening Australia and all the volunteers who work with this organisation do a great job in revegetating and invigorating our environment and I would like to congratulate them on their on-going effort and this national award." Mary added.
