Recently Mary visited Fraser Primary School to officially open the school’s Awesome Art Show for 2009.

“The Awesome Art Show offers Fraser students a chance to show off their artistic talents, and also provides a wonderful opportunity for families and community members to gather together and celebrate the school’s achievements,” said Ms Porter

Art also provides a way for people to express themselves, and this event is a wonderful example of this. It demonstrates the considerable talent of these students.

This year’s art show coincides with celebrations for the school’s 30th birthday, and was held in their recently refurbished, $700 000 assembly hall, funded by the ACT Government’s Schools Infrastructure Refurbishment Fund.

“I commend Fraser Primary School for supporting art in the school and for hosting a successful and enjoyable event,” Ms Porter said.

“This art show not only showcases the talents of Fraser Primary students, but also the strong community ties the school shares with its wider community.” Mary concluded.
