Bike Culture on Nettlefold Street, Belconnen, in honour of Mr Bob Miller

Bob, a cyclist, retired lecturer from the University of Canberra and now a PhD candidate, is undertaking a 5000 km riding journey, from Perth to Sydney, to raise funds and promote awareness for a charity that aims to prevent exploitation of children and youth of the Hill Tribe people in Thailand.

Bob departed Hillarys Beach in Perth on Saturday 22, March, and will be riding for 57 days to arrive at Bondi on 17 May.

The final leg to Canberra will be on Saturday 24, March where he’ll ride from Lake George. He will be welcomed back to Canberra at a reception party of friends and well wishers at Gorman House Markets in Braddon

“Many of us see a serious issue like the plight of these children and young people and say someone should do something.

Bob has decided that he can do something and has put compassion into action,” Mary said. You can follow Bob on his blog at http://bobcycle.wordpress.com. For more information about the children and youth he hopes to assist, visit the Bridgeworks website at http://www.projectbridgeworks.com.

“I wish Bob all the best and look forward to welcoming him back in the ACT in May,” Mary concluded.
