Mary recently attended Belconnen United Football Club’s presentation evening which celebrated the Club’s achievements throughout the year.
Belconnen United is the premier league club in the Canberra region and has both men’s and women’s team that play competitively in the ACT and surrounding region.
Belconnen United has a long history in the Belconnen area and the Club also has considerable involvement in the ACT community and particularly with young footballers through its relationship with Belnorth Football Club and Belsouth Junior Football Club.
This year Belconnen United has celebrated considerable success with the club winning the men’s and women’s Premier League Club Championships and each team making the grand final. The club’s other teams have also done well with the women’s under 19 team winning a premiership and the Under 17 and Under 13 Division One teams winning the Kanga Cup competitions.
“It is terrific to see local sport being celebrated in such a special way, particularly given the outstanding contribution that these local sporting clubs play in getting young people outdoors and involved in a community activity.
