This month, Mary attended the Canberra Preschool Society’s art exhibition, which celebrated the organisation’s 65 years of commitment to quality care and early education of children in the ACT.
The Canberra Preschool Society was founded in 1943 to further the establishment of a public kindergarten in Canberra, as well as promote an understanding of preschool children.
The event was a great success with a number of ACT parents, early childhood educators and various other early childhood education representatives in attendance and also visiting the exhibition during the week.
The artwork on display included a variety of work by preschool children as well as block and wire sculptures and digital photographs.
Reflecting on Acting President, Carolyn Harkness’ speech, Mary stated, “The Preschool Society is an integral part of our community. In coalition with the Preschool and Playschool Parent Associations they continue to work together to build a strong community that is ‘alive to the needs of children’.”
