Recently Mary attended the Construction Industry Training Council Awards Ceremony where two young apprentices jointly accepted the Award for Outstanding Graduating Apprentice of the Year.

The award ceremony, held at Thoroughbred Park, has been running for the past 12 years and this was the first year where the award was handed to two recipients, a sheet metal worker and a carpenter.

‘It was great to see that we have such outstanding young apprentices that the judges were unable to select just one overall winner!’ Mary said

In addition to the joint winners, 41 regional graduating apprentices were awarded Individual and Industry Encouragement Awards.

‘I warmly congratulate all the apprentices that received an award and I encourage others to consider a career in the trades,’ Mary said.

‘They all work very hard to achieve their qualifications with the support of parenting and workplaces. All awards can be viewed at www.ctic.org.au.’ Mary said.
