Recently Mary attended the seventh Lights! Canberra! Action! a major event of the Canberra Festival, which was this year part of the celebrations for Canberra’s birthday.

Many people again enjoyed the screening of the finalist’s films. This year the filming took place under the stars in Garema Place where a large crowd was also entertained by Flip Art during the interval and before and after the show.

The Canberra Festival and Lights! Canberra! Action! are funded and presented by the ACT Government. Entrants are required to make short films within ten days. Each year the films have to include different set themes and locations in their story lines.

“This year’s films were all of very high quality. I’m pleased to have met and talked to some of the talented directors, some of the actors and those involved in lighting, sound and theme music. I congratulate them all,” Mary said, “it was an honour to present awards to the winners in various categories and particularly to Christian Doran, the overall winner,” she concluded
