Recently, Mary rode pillion in the ACT Motorcycle Riders’ Association’s annual Christmas toy run, held this year in support of the Salvation Army and St John’s Care Christmas appeals.

Around 1000 riders participated in the event, which has been running for over 30 years. Similar runs also take place Internationally.

Bikes decorated in Christmas tinsel and riders dressed in wonderful fancy dress streamed into Garema Place, after their circuit to Woden and return, loaded down with toys or food. Many riders dug deep to donate cash as well.

“This all helps to make Christmas a happier time for many Canberrans who are really struggling,” Mary stated.

“Canberra’s motorcycle community always goes that extra mile, not only for this event, but other similar events during the year, including the annual Blanket Run in winter. I am pleased to again be able to support this very worthy cause,” Mary concluded.
