Through his dedication, professional experience and passion Mr Morison has helped to establish and maintain many successful programs to support people living with a mental illness as well as their families and networks.

Mr Morison was a driving force behind the establishment of the ACT Mental Health Association, served for five years as the President of Canberra Schizophrenia Fellowship and played a leading role in developing “WorkWays” a non profit employment Agency.

The Canberra Friends of Dili (CFD) and the Ryder-Cheshire Foundation (ACT) recently hosted a fundraising dinner that raised over $11,000 to support their work in Timor Leste.
Representing the Chief Minister and welcoming the new Ambassador Hernani Coelho da Silva, Mary said, "Australians still recall the sacrifices made by many East Timorese protecting Australian servicemen during World War Two and Canberrans will continue to work to strengthen the ties between our two countries."

Mary Porter opened the latest exhibition by Local award winning indigenous artist Duncan Smith during NAIDOC week last month.
As with an exhibition last year Duncan, a Wiradjuri man, donated all the proceeds from the exhibition to CANTEEN, an organisation that works with young cancer suffers.

The collection Connections uses both contemporary and traditional techniques to depict Duncan’s matrilineal stories, further enriched by his own personal and cultural dialogue.

Mary Porter recently participated in a roundtable forum that led to a number of ideas in Professor Bob Douglas's latest book SEE-change.

The book has been written for Australians of all ages who are concerned at the mounting evidence that humans are placing unprecedented strains on the planet and are wondering how, as individuals and communities, they can begin to turn society in new directions of sustainability, equity and peace.

The Gungahlin United Football Club began modestly in 1997 with around 120 players in 12 junior teams. From these humble beginnings the club has grown in less than a decade to 830 junior players in 83 teams with boys and girls as young as 4 years of age playing the round ball game. In addition, this season the club entered the senior's competition with 130 registered players in 8 teams.

Pegasus Riding for the Disabled has spread its wings with the launch of the Pegasus Foundation with the aim of securing the financial future of the organisation.

Prominent local equestrian identities Ray Silburn and Niki van Buuren are the Foundation's joint patrons.
